Base Fixture

A) Strip cap removal tool
B) Eight-row capsule strip

1. Move clear plastic slide of the base fixture to the left.

2. Slide aluminum strip cap removal tool over the top of the blue caps and drop capsule strip into the slot of the fixture.

3. Push back against the cap removal tool to remove the blue strip cap.

4. Move clear plastic slide back to the right and align the hole with the number one capsule.

5. Upon tissue capture into the ear tissue punching tool, align the metal nipple guide over the hole in the slide positioned over the open tissue collection capsule.

6. Hold tool firmly and squarely to the flat surface of the clear plastic slide.

NOTE ON EAR PUNCHING PROCEDURE:
Position the cutter punch within one inch of the outside edge of the ear. It is not necessary to punch deep into the ear as this can be harder on the animal and the tool.

8. With tool handles fully compressed together, push down firmly on the plunger until the external spring is fully compressed as shown in picture.

9. Make certain tissue punch remains in the capsule as the plunger and tool is withdrawn.

10. Remove tool and advance the slide hole to the next open tissue collection capsule, ready to receive the next ear tissue punch.

11. Upon completion, retract slide, reposition blue strip cap squarely on top of capsule strip and press down firmly on the strip cap removal tool.
