ProSampler Ear Punch Tissue Collection Device

Fast, Efficient and Convenient method for collecting livestock biological samples.

Since ear tagging is a very common practice in most livestock operations, capturing an ear tissue sample using the ProSampler ear punch tool fits in to most producers’ management situation. Compared to gathering blood, hair or swab samples ProSampler is not only fast and easy but also about half the cost. Accuracy of sample match-up with individual animal I.D. is a major concern that ProSampler solves with it’s novel Excel-based field/lab report form and synch-up with unique and sequentially number tissue sample capsules. RFID ear tag users will especially find added value with this new method of sample I.D.

ProSampler capsules can come empty or pre-packaged in four basic formats:

Phosphate Buffered Saline Solution (PBS)

This solution will result in labs receiving tissue samples with the initial lab step already completed for antigen capture ELISA or PCR pooling approaches to disease diagnostics such asBVD-PI screening.

Fixative Agent (non-formalin)

For BVD-PI diagnostics using immunohistochemistry (IHC) method for analysis.  Vet clinics will especially appreciate this convenience and elimination of the unpleasant use of formalin.

Stabilizer Solution

This proprietary solution will allow 14 – 21 days of tissue storage without requiring refrigeration or freezing. However, refrigeration and/or freezing are always an option when convenient to assure optimum tissue preservation prior to analysis.

Desiccant Preservative

For longer term storage of tissue for trace-back (DNA) accuracy, a desiccant preservative is available as an option for ProSampler users.
